How I found my way to the mat
My yoga journey began at Penn State, where I received individual instruction from the highly experienced teacher Christine DeHart. Her guidance introduced me to the depth of the practice and laid the foundation for my lifelong relationship with yoga.
I later completed my teacher training in New Jersey under Dorota Ellington, a Bikram-influenced instructor whose warmth, wisdom, and ability to cultivate a calm, welcoming environment continue to inspire me. Following her passing, I carried those lessons forward as I developed my own teaching practice.
I went on to teach at a vinyasa studio under the mentorship of Claudia Fejko, deepening my understanding of mindful movement, breathwork, and creative sequencing. Upon moving to Austin, I immersed myself in the discipline of Ashtanga yoga before ultimately returning to vinyasa, where I found the balance of structure, freedom, and self-expression that resonates most with me. Today, I teach at CorePower Yoga in Austin, where I continue to grow as an instructor and share the practice with my community.
